GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2025

The project “Orhan Pamuk. Words and Images”, created at the Labirinto della Masone for the Franco Maria Ricci Foundation and curated by Edoardo Pepino, has won the German Design Award 2025 in the “Excellent Architecture-Exhibition” category. Established in 1969 as Germany’s official design award and promoted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, this prestigious international accolade recognizes the project’s artistic and narrative excellence and its ability to seamlessly blend words and images.

The jury’s statement reads: “The exhibition design offers a unique insight into the artistic process of a renowned author, showcasing unpublished graphic works through an impressive video installation. The symbiotic relationship between literature and art is made visually tangible, broadening the audience’s creative perspective.”

This recognition highlights the project’s success infostering a dialogue between different forms of expression and its ability to transform storytelling into a powerful visual experience.

Orhan Pamuk, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2006, has captivated audiences worldwide with his unique ability to weave together words and images, turning his notebooks into intimate archives of thought and reflection.
