Paesaggi contemporanei

Splendid images tell the tale of a territory that is rendered incorporeal in a graphicand multimedia representation and that changes before our eyes, unfolding its story in an evocative way. Old photographs portray places from the past: squares, roads, schools and stations. They are places that are still recognisable from the way they look and the functions they had. A video camera shows us the same places as they are today, highlighting how they have changed and been transformed. What we see is a territory where the old town centres live with a spreading modernity that has devoured the last green traces of the countryside. These are today’s landscapes, silent witnesses of a recent and rapid urbanization and of the contradiction between new construction and the historical texture of the landscape.
