Labirinto della Masone welcomes a new major exhibition for the autumn season dedicated to the writer Orhan Pamuk, Nobel Prize winner in Literature in 2006, and his unpublished graphic production.
For more than ten years, day after day, Pamuk populates with words and images the pages of his notebooks: twelve of these are exposed and commented in a scenographic path, both real and spectacular, while a selection of all the notebooks is digitally available in two interactive stations.
Furthermore the precious notebooks are narrated by the author himself in an unpublished documentary-interview and spectacularized by an immersive environment that will lead visitors into the inner world of the Turkish writer.
Until now, these colorful and often dreamlike images have remained unknown even to the most attentive admirers of Pamuk’s work.
The writer’s renown, in fact, overshadows his skill as a painter (a private collection that risked remaining confined to friends and family). However, the graphic medium has proven necessary to express concepts that are neither speakable nor sustainable through words alone. The need to write and draw together, filling the limited space of the blank page, is the premise of an instinctive artistic practice in which literature, thought, and drawing complement each other.
