About This Project

Loosely based on the futuristic setting of Fritz Lang’s masterpiece “Metropolis”, the Argentine Pavilion for ExpoAstana2017 was conceived as a unified space, composed of three giant immersive “generators”, in which the three main themes are developed: primitive energy, creative energy, and the Argentinean candidacy for Expo2023. The interconnecting space is a relaxing area with a synchronized program of lights that brings the exterior facades of the generators to life, as if they were filled with energy.

The pavilion emphasizes the potential of natural, renewable, and traditional resources, which require increased levels of creativity and wisdom from man if they are to be used sustainably.
